Joe Johnston Thinks We Still Might One Day See Jurassic Park 4

Source: Firstshowing
By Alex Billington

Even though we've heard time and time again that it's going to never happen, director Joe Johnstonstill believes we will one day see Jurassic Park 4. Back in June, producer Frank Marshall said that another Jurassic Park was a "long shot" and that they "don't have a story." Not according to Johnston.Ain't It Cool News spoke with the director recently and heard otherwise. "Well, there is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it’s nothing like the first three. It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved."

Johnston continues: "Why would anybody go back to that island? It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it’s sort of about studios and Steven’s thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it. They had what four years between them? 1992… 1996 or 1997, and then 2001, so we are past due. I don’t know, but we will see."

The last few times we've written about Jurassic Park 4, I've expressed my disdain towards seeing another sequel. Exactly as Johnston said, we don't need to go back to any island again. At this point the franchise has burned itself out and if they make another one it's just going to get worse. I think it's better we don'tever see another sequel. Kind of like the Terminator franchise, it's time we just left it alone and let the legacy live on as it is, no more sequels or reboots or TV shows or anything. I love the original Jurassic Park but don't care for any of the sequels. Although, maybe I am a little curious to hear what the new story is?

Woops, Here is the Actual Badass Poster for The Wolfman

By Alex Billington

Just barely two hours ago we ran what we thought was the first, and only, teaser poster for The Wolfman. It only had Emily Blunt on it, so we thought Universal didn't know what they were doing. However, Ain't It Cool News has just exclusively debuted yet another teaser poster for The Wolfman and it is quite badass. I thought about just updating that old post, but when I actually got a glimpse of this, I thought it deserved its own entire post. Sure it looks a bit noir, but this poster is truly impressive, I love it. It's simple, it's dark, it's sinister, it's pretty much perfect. Hell, throw out that other poster, this is all they need. Check it out below!

Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman, is lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Upon his return and after being reunited with his estranged father, Talbot is bitten and cursed by a werewolf.

The Wolfman is directed by visual effects Oscar winner Joe Johnston, of Honey I Shrunk the Kids, The Rocketeer, Jumanji, October Sky, Jurassic Park III, and Hidalgo previously. The screenplay was co-written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en, 8MM, Sleepy Hollow) and David Self (The Haunting, Thirteen Days, Road to Perdition). Universal will be bringing The Wolfman to theaters on February 12th, 2010 early next year.

Kick-Ass New Character Posters for Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass!

Freakin' sweet! IGN has debuted the first four character poster
s for Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Asstonight. By now everyone has probably heard about this (or seen the leaked Comic-Con footage), so I don't think it needs an elaborate introduction. Kick-Ass is the adaptation of Mark Millar's awesome comic series about a kid who decides to dress up and be a superhero. While it could've been a goofy, Hollywood spoof, Vaughn went all out to make sure it was a bloody, brutal, violent adaptation true to his own pure vision. And that's already starting to show even in the marketing, as these posters definitely look awesome. Check'em out!

Kick-Ass is both written and directed by British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake an
d Stardustpreviously. The screenplay was co-written by Vaughn and his writing partner Jane Goldman, ofStardust as well. The story is an adaptation of Mark Millar's comic of the same name that is currently in the middle of its first series. Kick-Ass was funded entirely by Matthew Vaughn and his own private investors and sold once finished to Lionsgate earlier this year. They've currently set an April 16th, 2010 release date for the film, although I hope they change that, because that's a terrible opening day. Hopefully we'll see a trailer soon!
