Hitman 2 Locked and Loaded

20th Century Fox has reportedly hired Spanish filmmaker Daniel Benmayor to direct Hitman 2, but the question is whether there will be a new actor stepping into the shoes of Agent 47?
Deadline reports that Benmayor, a commercials director whose credits include Paintball and Bruc, will be making his stateside feature filmmaking debut with the sequel to the 2007 game-to-film adaptation.
Kyle Ward, who also scripted Kane & Lynch, penned the sequel's script. Variety reported last year that the sequel will be based on the Eidos game Hitman 5, which they said at the time was set for a late 2010 release. Deadline had the following blurb about the plot: "Agent 47, is a beaten man and must build himself back psychologically and physically to reclaim his mantle as world's most feared assassin."
Deadline also said that while the studio has an option on star Timothy Olyphant to return, it's not clear if he will reprise his role as Agent 47. As the site points out, Olyphant's career is hot right now thanks to his hit TV series Justified.

Joe Johnston Thinks We Still Might One Day See Jurassic Park 4

Johnston continues: "Why would anybody go back to that island? It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it’s sort of about studios and Steven’s thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it. They had what four years between them? 1992… 1996 or 1997, and then 2001, so we are past due. I don’t know, but we will see."
The last few times we've written about Jurassic Park 4, I've expressed my disdain towards seeing another sequel. Exactly as Johnston said, we don't need to go back to any island again. At this point the franchise has burned itself out and if they make another one it's just going to get worse. I think it's better we don'tever see another sequel. Kind of like the Terminator franchise, it's time we just left it alone and let the legacy live on as it is, no more sequels or reboots or TV shows or anything. I love the original Jurassic Park but don't care for any of the sequels. Although, maybe I am a little curious to hear what the new story is?

Sci-Fi Plot Revealed for Stallone's Rambo V: The Savage Hunt
by Alex Billington
Just a few days ago news broke confirming that the fifth installment of Sylvester Stallone's Rambo series had been greenlit by Nu Image / Millennium Films and was already in the works (and even hard a storyline about human trafficking across the Mexico border). Well, hold on to your bandanas, because AICN's Harry Knowles just had a conversation with Mr. Stallone himself in which he reveals the shadows of what will become Rambo 5. First, we have an official title - Rambo V: The Savage Hunt - and a poster (a glimpse of it seen above). Second, well, this Rambo may prove to be a bit different than those four previous movies.
John Rambo will be returning to the Pacific Northwest, back to his roots, if you will. There we'll be seeing Rambo on the hunt, the one doing the chasing rather than the one being chased. The film will center around a US Military installation that's experimenting on its soldiers, attempting to "tap into [the] savagery that we have deeply embedded [inside] us." Basically, these elite soldiers are to become purely instinctual killing machines without a shred of regret, with nary a single qualm about taking a human life. Who would guess that this experimental program turns out to work exceptionally well? And then backfires terribly. That's when Rambo, as part of a Black Ops squad, is brought in to hunt down this unfeeling, moral-less killer.
Well I'm sold. I don't know about you, but having written and read all that back, I'm sold. I trust Stallone after witnessing what he was capable of bringing to his exceptionally affecting 2006 film Rocky Balboa and 2008's Rambo-can-still-kick-ass fourth installment of the Rambo franchise. The guy knows his characters. And more so, he's confident in his characters. Mix that with some classic government conspiracy, a dash of some sci-fi super soldier, and John Rambo doing what he does best in the forests of the good ol' U. S. of A. — well, let's just say I've pitched my tent outside the movie theater already. Are you ready to join me in line?

Bruce Willis's Directorial Debut Shooting in October
by Alex Billington

Bruce Willis will be making his directorial debut on an indie film titled Three Stories About Joan. The psychological drama follows a young woman at three points in her life and the family tragedies that cause her to lose her grip on reality. Apparently the story involves her "faith in a love borne out of need, destroyed by a madness, and restored by a ghost." A ghost? Yes indeed. Willis has cast the lovely Camilla Belle as the lead in the film and will also star as her father. Shooting will start in early October in Shreveport, Louisiana under the production of Willis Brothers Films, which as you can assume, is the company run by Bruce and his two brother David. The budget is expected to between $10 and $25 million.
The screenplay for Three Stories About Joan was written by newcomers Christopher Alexander and Sam Applebaum. In addition to Belle and Willis, both Owen Wilson and Kieran Culkin will star in the film as well. It sounds like too much of a quirky story to actually turn out any good, but I don't know enough about all the details to really say. I'm more concerned about Willis' directing abilities than I am about the script. I'm sure this is going to be a big festival film next year, but I'm already worried that Willis won't be as good at directing as he is at acting. For some odd reason he doesn't feel like the kind of guy who knows how to work great behind-the-scenes, but then again, I haven't ever met him. I surely hope I'm wrong!

Fresh Assortment of New Quantum of Solace Photos
Source: DVD-Forum.at
by Alex Billington
Although we're in the thick of the film fest season where indies get more coverage than mainstream flicks, we can't forget some of the better looking fall films coming up, including specifically Quantum of Solace. Thanks to the guys over at DVD-Forum.at, we've got an exciting assortment of new photos from the upcoming James Bond film. A lot of these look fantastic, which is why I mentioned that I've been reminded of Quantum of Solace. Earlier today I couldn't think of anything that I was really looking forward to by the end of the year, since Harry Potter was moved. Now I'm reminded that Quantum of Solace, amongst others, looks great and will be one of the most highly anticipated films left to see this year.
There are quite a few more photos over on their website, but we've decided to feature the better looking ones below. I'm a huge Bond fan and these look great. Craig's return will definitely be heralded and I can't wait to see Mathieu Amalric's performance as the villain as well. Enjoy!

Quantum of Solace is directed by Marc Forster, of Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, Stranger Than Fiction, and The Kite Runner previously. The screenplay was penned by both Robert Wade (Die Another Day, Johnny English, Casino Royale) and Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby, Flags of Our Fathers, Casino Royale). This is the 22nd Bond film in the series that first began back in 1962 with Dr. No. Sony Pictures will be releasing Quantum of Solace in theaters on November 14th this year.
